Not quite. Definitely would not have taken 3 plane loads of people to boost his ego in Paris, and thus avoided all this carbon garbage to come from the Men in Red.

Not to mention that "the other guys" actually had some business acumen and didn't throw all caution out the window while sacrificing the public interest of the country when accepting "refugees".

Someone recently made a very applicable statement, "Don't claim to be centrist if you attack the right and defend the left".

It is interesting to see on how many issues Harper was right. We now see there really was no plan on how to deal with more refugees by the Liberals as housing problems abound. The Liberal promise to stop bombing missions looks ridiculous now. And how are the Liberals planning to diversify the economy? With infrastructure spending of course, wasn't Harper vilified by the Liberals for spending on infrastructure?

As for Alberta, the NDP talks of economic diversification. As far as I can tell their plan to do this is to shut down our coal fired electrical generation and replace it with wind and solar power. Now this will diversify our sources of power but how does generating the same electricity in a more expensive and less dependable way diversify our economy? They will also use natural gas when the sun doesn't shine and the wind doesn't blow. We have over 100 years worth of coal how many years of natural gas do we have? But change is always a good thing right?

Harper was not vilified for infrastructure spending.
he was vilified for spending more on commercials about it , than actually
                building anything .

as for the bombing , you may be right.
                i don't get it either
i am not sure of the logic
                if any
but it is pretty plain to see that all the meddling over there has only made things worse in the last 20 years

maybe stepping back and takeing a hard look, ain't so bad.

remember Harper was all in for giving Saddam the boot.
old Saddam looks pretty good right now. don't he

Trudeau's response to the west's economic problems is to fast track 1 billion dollars in infrastructure spending to Alberta and Saskatchewan. Notley has already planned to spend 34 billion on infrastructure over the next 4 years. So 2 questions, how much good will Trudeau's 500 million( half of the 1 billion) really do in Alberta and where will Alberta's debt be when Notley is done with us? Governments can only help the economy by creating a positive business environment for companies to invest in our present left of center leaders are not doing that!

Idea for the new government: When riggers were making their $400 to $800 a day and tax free daily per diems, do you think they stashed 1/3 into their disaster plan fund? When we put away a percentage of annual income into CPP for our retirement ( and our employer matches), so maybe these boom and bust industries could think about a program like that so they could fall back on the stash of crash when things turn down. It's a forced saving but I think there would be a lot of guys who would be pretty happy now if they had enough money to make their payments. After 7-10 good years in the oil patch, many have only lots of toys and several monthly payments.

Well, I know you can't phantom it, but there are a number of Albertan's who are still happy with the change...and a number of them are from the other side...
But there are also a number who think the current problems are all related to the ND's, low oil prices are their fault...think the current fiscal problems have just occurred...but then you can't fix stupid...
Some things I like, some things I don't....but I will continue to give them a chance overall and call it at the next election.
