I've been having a couple beers and thinking (which probably means I'm wrong) but some pretty good varieties are getting deregistered for no good reason. CPS, HRS and Canola.
We all know these varieties were plenty good 3 years ago so what changed?
Also what do our checkoff dollars do for us? The producer groups are supposedly on our side so are they defending these varieties?
I think we should all take our checkoff money back and tell them why. They should be lobbying on our behalf to keep these older varieties, if they really aren't agronomicaly equal we will decide to drop them ourselves.
Feel free to tell me why I'm wrong. But I'm going to look into getting my money refunded monday.
