what a stupid f$&king idea , I told them that also . building us another weed that's hard to kill . put that in the same pile of shit as glyphos resistant flax . wouldn't that be a horrible weed . the sad thing is you will get this new gen of super weed whether you grow it or not . look at the mixed up mess we're paying $12 /lb for now ? always rr ready canola seeds in invigor now , it's allowed a percentage . this is what we get for millions of dollars of checkoffs ?

Here's an even more sobering number for you:

Average yearly 20,000,000 acres seeded X $50/acre seed costs = a cool billion....

What do they do with it all? Every year!

Kinda reminds me a bit like the oil industry on a smaller scale but the same spending practices when things are good ... drunken sailors.

Like with anything on the internet, as soon as there is the mention of "superweed", stop reading as the author knows nothing about weeds or farming.

I literally have not spoken to one farmer who wants stacked ll and RR. I guess there are a few tools who will bite.

There is a reason we grow Liberty canola. And it's not because Liberty is good weed killer. It's because Roundup is a good canola killer.
So is phenoxy, and a good rotation. Its too bad farmers are completely ruining the canola industry by greed and laziness.

20 million acres @ 42.5 bu/ac (cocky average) @ $10.50/bu equals about $8.925 billion in gross value to the producer, is a billion in seed costs too much?

About one nineth of the value...

                    Use your own numbers.

Went to some meetings in the U.S and they are just ecstatic that they now have 5 stack soybeans. What does that tell you about where we are headed. Nothing but profits for the big companies.

tweety. im not nearly as smart as you . but the superweed im talkin about is glyphos resistant flax . and as far as im concerned thats what it will be .think how much that will cost to kill and yes they have been working on it nobody wants it or needs it but that doesnt matter. once its here its here same as guys that have never grown RR canola but have to add heat to glyphos to dessicate invigor canola because RR. comes right in the invigor bag. always has

maybe you should of actually read it instead of telling someone who has farmed for 40 years that they know nothing about farming

No one in rr soybean areas wants this sh#t anywhere near their farms, will cause nothing but trouble with rr canola volunteers in next years soybean fields. F$ckn idiots. Who approved this anyways. Most farms around here grow clearfield and liberty canolas, and save the roundup option for beans.

Thats exactly the way it shud be mbgrower but the big companies want it all. Never satisfied with some market share they want more and more no matter how big of a mess they create. Then they will fix it with something new and we keep paying.

There are no super weeds. Quinclorac will take it out. But i still wouldn't want RR flax on my farm.

Re dessicating canola - use a swather.
