      Licensed?

      Why aren't there any "LBR"--LIVESTOCK BREEDER'S RIGHTS?

What gives the purebred breeder the right to sell the progeny from a purebred bull be bought? It's called freedom and property rights...something Tom4G3 supposedly so zealously defends. So why can't I sell seed from the seed I BOUGHT, nobody gave it to me for nothing!!!

Probably half the farmers or maybe more plant and forget about it and go to the lake.

Grow it - Own it? I don't get it. Civil disobedience is justified against unjust laws. But I suspect the ducks will quietly file into a row - but maybe not.

Maybe flax is the way to go. I don't mind that idea.

              Anyone custom seeding?

Norquay Farm achieves incredible 91.82 bu/ac Canola Yield!
                November 6, 2013

LAKESIDE FARMS CROWNED 2013 “CANOLA KING”
When One Strives to Maximize their Productivity, Extraordinary results will prevail.
Lakeside Farms from Norquay, Saskatchewan have been crowned this year’s Hudye Soil Services 2013 “Canola King Challenge” winner. Steven and Donna Toffan of Lakeside Farms along with their son Justin Toffan and son in law Scott Effa, achieved the winning yield of 91.82 bushels per acre on their farm in North East Saskatchewan, Canada.

The Canola King Challenge in its 7th consecutive year is a great opportunity for local producers to test new management practices and strategies in an attempt to achieve the highest canola yields possible. This includes, but is not limited to, genetics, seed treatments, chemistries, advanced fertility with the use of micronutrients, fungicides, enhanced technologies and agronomic consulting, reported Dan Owen– Agronomy Manager of Hudye Soil Services.

The Canola King Challenge winner is awarded a $5000 travel voucher to a destination of their choice.
Out of the ten producers that participated in the 2013 challenge, Lakeside Farms recorded the record- breaking yield with 91.82 bushels per acre, more than 2.6 times the Provincial Average. Even though Toffans won the challenge, all participants deserve recognition for their achievements and hard work that was put into their 2013 crop, reported Dan Owen.

With the Saskatchewan Provincial average at just 35.2 bushels per acre in 2013, these ten producers proved to the rest of the province that higher canola yields are very possible when maximizing productivity with an average yield between the ten farms of 67.7 bushels per acre, which in turn reduces the per bushel cost of production, a concept continually strived for in the annual “Field of Dreams” project conducted by Hudye Soil Services.

                Good dirt,,, can't be beat.

Its great fun... now the Gov. has gone.

God Bless Stephen Harper... Jerry Ritz... and God Bless Canada!

We have the best country... the best farms... and the best people in our communities... anywhere!

You do realize "maximize yield" has nothing to do with net profit. Only the inputs dealer, it does their net profit well.

Yes, I have replaced it already with something closer to home, looking forward to it this year.
