Lean is a concept, a way of thinking, continuous improvement, efficiency, opportunity, etc

Anyone that thinks government, organizations or business should not strive for this type of betterment is some one I don't want, or want my family to associate with.

    As ice man says,
    Over and out!

Similar thoughts as Oliver and Iceman.
Nobody likes change. Do believe LEAN is a continual improvement model which has has very good results. As referenced above, Toyota is a very good example.

Building a car is quite different than healing a human being.

The program should have been Tried in SMALL test area Not the whole friggin province.

There are unions here and cooperation is key to make any concept to catch on.

The whole lean thing is you can always do more with less. Might work better in private sector but Toyota's recall rate has also gone up. Quality control is one of the first things to suffer. This is another of Wall's blunders.

Introduce profit sharing will drive results faster than LEAN because employees help with the gains.

Ipsco introduced it in the mid 90s. Made a lot of very rich people in or out of the union.

Were too far down the union slope to get around them now?

First it is total bs to say a $40 m contract cost the province $6B. Just absolute fabrication. No basis in truth whatsoever.

Second to say we have Unions here so cooperation is the answer. Is just more of the same trying to get a different result.

Third we spend so much on healthcare if there wasn't an attempt at innovation and cost reduction then you ain't doin your job imo.

But then it is "ok" that nurses have an informal system to take sick leave so someone else gets more overtime. Doesn't sound like fraud to me.

If the management hasn't got the smarts to stop the practice....fire the management.
