Along the same lines as farmaholic, I have seen a lot of absurdly low grain prices in my time. I am having mixed emotions with sympathizing. These low oil prices are going to hurt some really good people, but I spent many waking nights trying to figure out where the extra $ 15,000 is going to appear for fuel, fert , spray while mainstresm society was buying 42 inch flat screen TVs

All the stats are generally listed as yoy.

Its been UGLY since about feb/mar of last year. So going forward if we see further yoy declines, it will be stacked on top of already significant declines.

Just in case anyone missed what is being printed by a magazine that has more news facts than you ordinarily run across; here's a repeat of what was posted under another heading.


Not just broke; but borderline "not much going on". Read the Pipeline news magazine.

Estevan is all but "dead". Derrick hotel/bar for sale and owners not willing to continue to pour money into a losing enterprise. Lodge closed; new construction for other hotel accommodations stalled at pouring foundation stage; room rates at rock bottom and still no customers; owners laying off staff and doing work themselves.

Maybe all but those in denial should get the current picture.

All goes to show that the professional planners can easily get the basic presumptions of limitless growth....oh so totally wrong.

But have any "leaders" have recognized this new reality and revised their 25 year plan. Until there is some acknowledgement that we are on a different path from the projection they are pretending we are headed on.....WE ARE GOING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION IN SASKATCHEWAN.

That perspective coming from those characterized as the "cynical and disengaged" and thrown back at the handful who should be held responsible for what has happened "under their watch"
