    Return of canadian Wheat Board

Is cwb still buying wheat over there under new ownwership?

The old AWB here is now owned by Cargill a very aggressive buyer at times and in harvest just gone I think I read that 15% of last harvest was sold to awb/Cargill wheat pool.

WA CBH in west Australia picked up about 20% pooled grain.

Pooling/Single desk marketing always fraught with danger in falling markets such as this year.

If canucks really want to do it form a co-op of some sort and go for it.

Cash is still king here for most.

When forward cash prices get to equivalent of 260 on farm here which will happen on some weather spikes or left field events may happen in traditional april may timing again in june july then October often spikes its a sell signal for me 30 to 40% of expected production. Maybe in the lick maybe scale up selling depends on my view of market.

Early January we got to within 8 dollars of target price.

We have a large domestic market which always trades above export prices may not be quite the case in the Canadian marketing utopia.

Usually target price is higher but changes every year, hence the lowering of 10 this year.

Canadian Utopia? I've got nothing to directly compare it to. I really wonder if the suppliers of goods and services will ever let one part of the world be more profitable than another. We all get basically the world price for what we grow....if you yeild more or less your inputs or freight are likely more or less than your international competitors.

Which is the best country in the world to make a living farming?

Mallee, what are farm fuel prices down under? We filled at 52.4 cents, but I heard of lower prices.

50 farmers want it back. kornachuck says its unbelievable that that many farmers you could pass an unanimous vote like that. He can't be for real. So far the dumbest things if heard this year

Yes 50 some farmers signed a petition from Swan River . Yes there are 50 dumb farmers out there still. Best thing ever was the CWB gone and all the leaches with it.

I don't want the old cwb back but there should be a better system than what is in place now.

Don't think the Saudis should own it.

Should have been an IPO for farmers first.

          Just random comments.

Maybe Western Canada can get a deal on a Saudi state oil trading entity and sell that cheap sourced oil to Eastern Canada. Pipeline issue solved.

farmaholic took the bait sorry mate no utopia anywere......fuel I think 1.08 today.
farmers get 38 cents rebate basically if its used in agriculture we don't pay the road tax but we have to pay full amount and claim it back.

Was a utopia when I was there in my youth Canadian women especially out west are mighty fine on the eye and they loved what they thought was a English accent when they found out I was a aussie it was in like Flynn as they say.

Now im old and delapitated at 52 lol ah memories of my youth

Another memory from a little place called cochin was visiting a bar full of Indians on a Friday night not a white man in sight other than the bar tender and me but again being a aussie saved my neck......was a novelty for em
