Cotton we feed half of India, cannabalism here thats a stretch. 5000 bushels of wheat and 5000bu lentils a little flax for omega 3's a gopher here n there. Could easily feed a 1000 people for year. Sask is in pretty good shape to weather even the worst financial storm.

Always thought if a total collapse, I could feed my family... Partly why I moved out... And to teach kids how to be self sufficient .
But living this close to a major city, I doubt I could protect it.....

Lets call it a lb of wheat and a lb of lentils a day. Its plenty close enough for easy calculation sake. Lentils are approx 500 calories per pound and wheat 1500 cals per pound. Thats 2000 cals a day, a very typical avg requirement amount. Thats a thousand people's yearly requirement not 272.

Ive gone 30 days without solid food of any kind out of curiosity. I lost 30 lbs but functioned at a very high level of awareness, activity and energy the entire time. Trust me you will not understand food and its effect on you until you do what I did.

Its called juice feasting, as much freshly juiced organic fresh produce as you require to make it through the day. A number of people have reversed type two diabetes and even cured terminal cancer in short order. Gives the digestive system the break it needs to eliminate stored toxins, damaged and dead cells while having all the necessary tools to rebuild. Every bodily function is systematically restored to optimum condition. I had more energy and get up and go than ive ever had in my life. Plus a feeling of spiritual connectiveness to the earth and life that I've never felt before.

The rule of thumb is a couple thousand pounds per person per year. If you can stomach carbohydrate rich wheat and and rice day in day out good job. The best water filter is a berkey. Don't forget about extra iodine supplements when all the reactors melt down. I hear the pry(spelling) is the best for storing fuel. Sask would maybe last the longest but the world would burn as a very complex system fails. You would suffer for a year or two but eventually be over run and probably eaten as your wife is ****d. Trust me don't entertain the thought of the big what if?if the lights go out it really is a quick trip back to the stone age.
