Peter Schiff guy has been pretty accurate. He nailed housing bubble all the QE's and the many more to come. Austrian econmics school of thought has been winning for some time now. As opposed to the Keynsian school of make believe.

I follow zerohedge as well but find it too extreme. It has been described as doom porn as it will print all the news that fits a narrative. Others include deflation.com and small dead animals. I also pay attention to analysts including Jack Crooks, Doug Casey, as well as Harry Dent who gives a bit of a different take.

You follow Casey but zerohedge is to extreme lol. I agree you have to filter a lot.

If you want to goto the edge of theory on what's happening look up a guy called Paul Samuelson on YouTube. He is counter to what Errol and I think which is Austrian vs keynsian theory and actually they have morphed into neo economics. They actually believe deficits don't matter at all. God I hope they are right. Anyway it gives insight into what is being implemented right now and the path we are on.

I thought I would mention it but some of this stuff is way out there but I doubt many want/care about this level of theory.

Well, Casey's number 1 desired asset is farmland....so most on here are doing well, if there is a total collapse....

I like Doug but if there is a total collapse we are all dead period there is no ifs or butts or any arguement you can through at that fact. You simply haven't thought it threw. Maybe you know how many pounds of food per year needed per person or you don't but I do. Even in the least dense ag orintated sask people would starve. And starving men go mad and start killing and eating people.

Dougs little fantasy land in Argentina wilderness won't save him and I believe he knows this its just a get away from the socialist/fascist governments of the world of which very few are left. Chile and Jeff berwick are another.

Cotton we feed half of India, cannabalism here thats a stretch. 5000 bushels of wheat and 5000bu lentils a little flax for omega 3's a gopher here n there. Could easily feed a 1000 people for year. Sask is in pretty good shape to weather even the worst financial storm.

Always thought if a total collapse, I could feed my family... Partly why I moved out... And to teach kids how to be self sufficient .
But living this close to a major city, I doubt I could protect it.....

If the lights go out they will never come back on again

Lets call it a lb of wheat and a lb of lentils a day. Its plenty close enough for easy calculation sake. Lentils are approx 500 calories per pound and wheat 1500 cals per pound. Thats 2000 cals a day, a very typical avg requirement amount. Thats a thousand people's yearly requirement not 272.

Ive gone 30 days without solid food of any kind out of curiosity. I lost 30 lbs but functioned at a very high level of awareness, activity and energy the entire time. Trust me you will not understand food and its effect on you until you do what I did.
