Typical leftwing go around chuck chuck, if a leftwing gov. does it it's alright, no big deal, now if the former harper gov. had done the very same thing you would have been yelling blue murder! C'mon admit it. You would have more credibility if you would judge things objectively.

At our 'Economic Conference' in Edm on Saturday... an interesting point was made:

PM Justin has had 'the stars' align just about perfectly... to make massive shifts in our constitution/Canada.

1.) only ONE conservative based provincial gov left in Canada... Sask.

      2) PM Justin has told the country... there will not be another election using 'first past the post' as the democratic method of selecting politicians....

      3) We likely be offered a choice between proportional representation (Popular vote determines the number of MP's for each party) or preferential ballot determining the winner... requiring more than 50 percent to win the election.

As the constitution can now be changed, being that the vast majority of our Provincial Premiers are ND/Liberals... EXPECT HISTORIC moves on the Canadian Constitution!

Yep and it all came about because people were sick of the right's corruption and arrogance.

Wall will win this election but people will tire of his backroom deals as well.

Sheesh bucket! So it's the conservatives fault for what the liberals are doing now? I would say the biggest contributing factor to the election outcome was the leftwing media painting harper as an extremist, tyrant, etc.etc. any little thing they did was critisized and negatively portrayed. They duped the average voter. ( including you ) ( the media that is )

The committee that recommends these increases are full of conservatives that could have said something publicly in December.

They chose not to and probably voted for the increases as well.

It's a perfect storm for the conservatives now .... they can vote for anything and blame someone else.

Which is why the MRE will be done away with very quickly.

As far as harper ... his own party turned on him pretty quickly after the defeat.

It may be an issue, but an additional 20 million on top of a $270 billion budget is not significant.

I am just suggesting that if you want to find savings from smaller government you may want to look at the entire budget and decide where expenses can be cut.

BTW most of the transfers to individuals have largely been supported by recent Conservative and Liberal governments. This make Conservative's supporters in favour of social programs like OAS, GIS, where taxpayer money is used to support lower income seniors. This support is considered socialist and would be considered by many as left wing.

Seniors, healthcare, child tax credits and farmers have or are receiving tax payers support in various forms.

It is easy to chirp about the $20 million for political gain but there are other places to potentially cut.

Maybe we should start with farmers and their subsidies?

                Chuck

It's just that they don't quit spending.

That was a 20 percent increase so it's actually like 120 million for office expenses.

Someone could do more with less.

chuck chuck, isn't that what any party who has the best interests in canadians should do? oas should be supported by every party.Just because rightwing is the opposite of socialism doesn't mean that a rightwing gov. shouldn't support a socialist concept if it's good for the country. They should, that's what makes a good gov., one that can be flexible. Classic example is china. A communist gov. that has embraced free enterprise, goes to show you what people can do when given a chance.

What about the rightwing media? they were involved too. Don't pretend that the media is all leftwing.

Other than the rebel, i can't think of anyone else that is decidedly rightwing.
