Agreed Bucket. But I was focusing on the marathon participants not the rule makers.

Pretty easy to farm when you inherit all your land, buildings, machinery, and a full crop, and have at it...
Really tiring hearing guys like that complain about how hard they have it. Um no, you don't have it hard.... or then go off about how wonderful things are all the time.
LOL).
Put your work clothes on, Put your head down and keep working. You will be surprised how quickly you shit turns to gold and their gold turns to shit.
It sounds like your on the right page. Just keep working. You don't need a S690 or a longhorn truck anyways.
And yes that award is the original widow maker

Q: How do you be successful at farming?
A: Inherit land
Without inherited land to anchor the place you will likely fail and should sell while there are still buyers. In a protracted period of deflation it will be impossible to keep costs under revenue. It is the free inherited land that does that for you.

The difference is many quarters were bought and paid for with one crop. And the banks didn't finance the deal. The farmers did the deal amongst themselves.
Try that today.
But then again at age 52 I am still hoping for that inherited land option to come my way.
Crazy hey?
