Mustard, how does the fact that nuclear infrastructure last at least twice as long as solar and wind? How about the cost of the over capacity needed due to inconsistent output?

Read an interesting quote today"the problems that exist today are there because those who work for a living are being outnumbered by those who vote for a living". Certainly applies to Canada!

So since I voted Liberal and many people I know also did, don't work for a living and voted Liberal looking for a handout? But, you who voted for Harper must work for a living and have never received any hand outs?

Hamloc, no taxpayer's funded government payment cheques ever received and cashed on your part!!!

You see it as waste, I see it as fuel for a 4th generation fast reactor. The interesting thing about technology is the more you invest in it, the more sophisticated it becomes.

The quote imo refers to Canadian's apparent desire and belief that Government can solve all problems. Canadians voted for more government spending did they not with the Liberals, one of their biggest planks was deficit spending. As a tax paying Canadian I have certainly cashed government cheques, having said that I have been self employed for over 30 years. Do I believe Canadians need social programs, absolutely, what I don't agree with is poor fiscal management and the debt accumulation that has plagued the Ontario Liberals since 2003, as an example.

Now could you answer the 2 questions I asked above, how much would you be willing to pay on a carbon tax and why do left leaning parties that believe in financial equality want to implement taxes that punish lower income earners the most. As an Albertan I am not willing to pay a carbon tax but I would like to see a sales tax and all energy royalties put in the heritage fund. Have a good day:-)

I do believe that mankind's activities are causing climate change. To be honest, I don't know if a carbon tax is right or wrong, but something needs to be done.

Have you ever watched the HBO program VICE? The last episode on March 4/2016 "Meathooked & End of Water" was very interesting.
