Only thing to worry about now is grain surplus.

If it was too early to hit the panic button for drought...so is it too early to count unhatched chickens....

A whopping half a tenth.... 0.04 to be precise....Whooo hooo

Lost over 1/2 our snow in the last two days. Runoff is barely noticeable in ditches and creeks. Judging by the forecast for the next week, it could start getting pretty dry by end of March.

Klause: Did some "foreigner" from the south stop you and wife on a snowy road today? If so I thank you for the directions.

On a line from deep into North Dakota to Saskatoon; all the potential runoff so far would fit in small dugout or less.

And its a full month earier than just about what anyone can recall.

Still very early; but its unseasonably warm and dry as is well known.
Nebraska type weather. Enjoy the benefits and there are several to enjoy.

Bare ground commonly everywhere bodes well for no more long term January weather until at leastsummer.
