Did the Pope call it right ?

He called the current Muslim refugee situation a Muslim invasion of the EU.
Not sure if that was his exact statement - but I think he knows far more than most on what's going on . This almost seems pre planned . Either way Europe is a mess and will be for a long time now.

I know this is not a marketing issue but it is relative that if Saudi and it allies stomp into Syria - oil is going to $60 . That will effect grain pricing as well somewhat .

I agree Europe as most remember is long gone! New Muslim land! Easy way to conquer. All in the name of helping out!
Big mistake and our genius thinks it's ok!

Well said.
This is also the reason the amount of sexual abuse against women rising dramatically and also why you are seeing Jews in France being slaughtered periodically.

Furrow if the example you listed does come true and bring a $60 oil price:

$60 oil = 85 cents/l diesel and 90 cent dollar?

That's the way I see it playing out if it happens.
That would also pressure grain prices going foreward , no ?
Just wounding if we should be pre pricing canola / wheat before shtf? Will be interesting to watch the coming weeks/ months .
You can still get $10 canola and $6.50 hrsw for fall, not great but hate to see that slip outa reach

The Liberal Party of Canada aren't happy with 25,000 migrants from Syria, the latest news this morning.

Immigration plan seeks to admit up to 305,000 new immigrants in 2016

obama is teaching PM Selfie how to get more voters for the next election, because Canadians won't be tricked so easily in 4yrs.

If it all remains just rhetoric not much will change of course and prices on grains / oil / cnd$ should remain sideways. Then the weather will be the driver.
But something tells me things could get uglier in the Middle East / Europe shortly. Time will tell and unfortunately I don't think we as farmers should ignore the possible outcome if Saudi does waltz into Syria. Putin will react , he will not sit on the sidelines this time - ie Iraq / Libia .

How can't the leaders figure it out? Does history not teach anything?

It wouldn't surprise me to witness that scenario unfolding.
The USA has a weak leader with Obama, Putin wants to make Russia a military leader again, Saudi Arabia/Turkey/Iran could have an Islamic sect showdown.

My guess/opinion is if there is a serious showdown with several Middle East OPEC Islamic terror filled countries:

Crude Oil and CDN Dollar Increase, Diesel Fuel increase
USD decreases
New farm machinery prices decrease or increase less.
Fertilizer ?

Wheat Basis Weakens
Wheat Futures Strengthen

Canola Futures Fall
Canola Basis is a wildcard

All specialty crop bids fall due to CDN $.

Oats futures don't seem to correlate with cash prices.

Shares in Smith & Wesson, Ruger, etc increase.
