I saw a few American bidders but not tons?

How many folks here are a bit suspicious about shill bidding happening at many of these auctions.

Too many times somebody jumps in when it is needed most to drive prices up?

USA farmers are feeling the low prices. There hurting and hurting bad. They don't care about our over priced shit.

When you can't see who the other bidders are, can you trust the "on-line" bidding?

No you can't trust it at all. It's total bullshit and should be made illegal. Main reason why I don't auction sale shop.

I never buy at the big orange auctions, because of the alledged phantom bidders. Also, agree, machinery still cheaper to source down south.

If I do a good assessment of the machine, decides what a good deal
would be based on the market I am in and then stay under that value
when bidding, I could care less if there is a phantom bidder or not.
I'm going to go home with a good deal if I am the winner. A deal I could
                    not have got anywhere else.
Over the years the worst experiences buying equipment have been
                    when buying from a dealer.

We have bought from the big orange and yea its funny how a guy shows up and internet is on. But its a auction and if you want a piece figure out what its worth research and bid up to amount your happy to pay. If it goes higher big F$%king Deal. It wasn't meant to be.
Dealers are dealers. When times were rolling they won now its slowed and some are getting some real good deals.
                      That is life.
But American farmers are not going to flood north to buy over priced Canadian Shit.
Now on construction side Yes a Cat that's now half price is a deal and then take off 30%.
But funny go to a auction down down down south some times you see equipment that was up North.

                        Funny story.

Last year at the Abbey sk rb auction... NH cx8080 for sale. Mint unit but it isn't an NH area. No bids price kept dropping and dropping. Down to 28 grand. I threw my hand up... why not needed a combine anyway and that was 25% of what it's worth.

Nobody else bid. Somehow out of the blue an Internet bidder showed up... price went to 88k between us and the Internet.

Internet finally got it... same combine was at the rb auction in stoon in August.... hmmmm

In regards to your story Klause, that cx combine might have been the same one that combine world had for sale. Just after that sale combine world had one with similiar hours for sale so just putting two and two together. I am also leary of the internet bidding but have also bought online so I know sometimes the internet is on. Like everyone else said, just make sure you have not over spent and you will be fine.

Hey Klause, what did the 8080 bring at the Saskatoon sale?

From a buyers prospective, I've never been comfortable bidding against the anonymous internet bidder. The auctioneer telling you that the tractor or combine is going to TimBuckToo is too little information. At the very least, a name or company should be attached to the sale.

Would it reasonable to have a screen displaying those names that are bidding from the internet? The technology is out there to do something like that.

Selling that combine for $28,000. would also hurt the Auction House. How often does the auction house bid against you to preserve prices and a higher market place for all items. Are there any rules/laws that prevent an auction house from bidding, buying and reselling any given item(that from their experience), would be considered to low of a sale, just like a $28,000. combine would be?
Other than ethics of course? You know,,,there's no reserve!!!
