I have always used 222 ,50 gr bullet and reload my own amo for about .25c/round I like it for coyotes as it dosent blow them all to hell so less sewing if you are selling hides,I have a 243 as it is legal hunting cal but for moose you want to be pretty close and use 100 gr its got fair recoil

You probably know you can get a 10/22 look alike in .223 called a ranch rifle.
Not real accurate but easy to carry and great for spray and prey if you just want to move the coyotes over to the neighbors.
Went to Vietnam as the M14 in the early 60's.
Fun litle gun. Can't loose on the investment.
Can't have too many gun !!??

The mini 14. I really like mine. It's the new one with the tapered barrel. It's a lot more accurate than the earlier mini 14s. If the Zombie Apocalypse comes I'm ready. Good on varmints too.

A rifle that is not accurate is not interesting forgot who said that but I agree especially if you want to hit what you are shooting at. Prairie in Avonlee has the CZ455 Canadian edition in stock. Check it out its in a different league of craftsmanship and quality. Buy once cry once if you take care of its sure to appreciate in value.

All good and sensible comments. Of course a rifle only as good as the rifleman. Whats your requirement. Stay within op peram of your weapon. Understand said above.
The little I do now? 17hmr in truck 365 /yr. 1 shot 1 kill. Reloading makes any round tailor made for situation and cheaper. Nato rounds always available.
Tool or hobby? Scalpel or hammer? 22-250 with average twist very versatile and reliable if reload and it fits your needs and location. Similar could be said for 5.56. Start by buying Hornadys latest manual. All cartridge info in it. Good read all u need. KISS. Dont be sucked in by a fad or newest hottest.
