RB auction Birch Hills land went lower than I guessed it would. Not sure of water issues in that area right now.

This may be a reflection of guys only willing to pay top dollar for land with no issues. The last few years it did not matter if it was too wet , sandy, hilly, bush - it was all getting top dollar.

Land values are lower but prices may not be. In third world countries like Canuckistan, there is the expectation that the central bank will trash the currency and thus maintain price levels. This is why the US farmer is dealing with lowering input and land costs to be more competitive while we are looking for an interest rate cut in Canada. It is amazing that Calgary house prices are down 1% almost two years into an oil rout. The $Cdn is doing the price cutting for them.

If water is the next big thing were in the money.
Yes land values have stalled in some areas.
Land is still a way to get hide money from Foreign fathers and mothers to Canadian Children who were sent here to go to school and then became Canadian Citizens.
Mom and Dad send money so sons and daughters can purchase and then mom and dad will come over after all is liquidated in China or where ever.

Will farmland be traded like Vancouver housing? Could happen if all wealthy Chinese come over to launder ill gotten gain. Kind of ironic that wealthy Chinese come to speculate on farmland while it is dependent on being able to sell its produce back home to the impoverished Chinese left behind.

Relative put a bid on house in Vancouver 100 thousand over asking and was 5th place.200 over asking. Many buying to flip the next day but he was buying to live in it.
