What else besides oil is made in Canada. The only thing manufactured in Canada these days is inflation. A buddy of mine trucked. Manufactured food products came out of a plant in Ohio and shipped to Ontario where a load was assembled and shipped out west. He then shipped fresh air across the border into the US where products were picked up and hauled back to eastern Canada. Stat Can data is largely BS. GDP calculations include government services the value of which is largely suspect.

Gas on Friday was about 85 cents, a day or two later...93 cents. Lots of Easter travelling eh!
On behalf of the public consumers I would like to thank the Gas Stations...... in case anyone forgot when they paid for their fuel.

I never read all this thread but the important thing to remember is when you have $100 oil there is 3X as much money going into the economy from the oil sector. A lot more for more to get some small cut.
It's been said that in the USA 60% of the job creation since the 2008 melt down came from oil.
So where do you think your market driven mutual funds are headed if those jobs are all gone.
Makes no difference if a lone few can show a profit.

Cresent point is a great great company but they have problems that are beyond their control. Those analysts are a bunch of pin heads.

When oil goes up we will be at 1.25 a liter in no time.
Now they say gas prices are disconnected from oil prices.
They pulled the same trick when they said nitrogen fertilizer is disconnected from the price of natural gas.
Otherwise we would be paying well less than 400/tonne for nitrogen.
It must be great to fool the masses.
Eventually you get guys like trump and sanders calling bullshit on the establishment.Last edited by bucket; Mar 27, 2016, 11:05.
