Saskcanfarmer you nailed it. Ships come in unload and then wait for next load anchored off shore.

There is a reason that ocean freight rates are so low.

But according to bucket it is probably Brad Walls fault too.

As others have said it is likely that not all those ships have contracts, they are just hanging around because of nothing else to do. Still bags in the field here and there is likely a stalemate between what broke buyers can afford to pay and what farmers want for the remaining inventory so shipping is slowed down for now. If the dollar falls to 0.60 problem solved.

Grain is moving in our area like a bandit. Company likes our quality and protein and its gone.
Canola has hit 11 yesterday just a little trip north.
Its dry, Dry and dry, love this winter almost better to be here than Hawaii.
        Not.
        Now on the Costs down.
Diesel has inched up as Coop got rid of all the old diesel to farmers.
        Fert is up.
Chem is up or some flat.
        Rent is not moving much.
Equipment is out of this world high.
Yea farming is a great occupation.
Fasten the seat belts and hang on.

Get to drive a big pickup truck....one of my silver linings.

Yes it is likely going to get financially more challenging before it gets better.

Tighten down and enjoy the simple things in life.

              Have a safe spring everyone.

We had many acreage spikes in lentil growing, mother nature takes care of the overage. no worry! The same areas produce - the rest are chihuas chasing a greyhound bus.
