Carbon taxes are just a sales tax on energy. The reason governments push carbon taxes is because they want more money. If they suggest raising sales taxes the electorate blows a gasket but the majority will grudgingly accept a carbon tax because they think they are going to help the environment. Look at Germany, probably one of the largest users of so called green energy, no carbon tax. If a government wants to push green energy be open do it with subsidies or investment tax credits on green energy infrastructure. Put more money into research and developement but don't push this energy sales tax bullshit pretending it will fix our use of carbon based energy. Only a true belief and commitment by a majority of users will result in adadptation. Chuck2 as for your complaint about all the subsidies farmers recieve compared to Europe and the USA we recieve a lot less government help. Have a good day:-)

Carbon tax is no different than recycle/enviro fees on plastics etc. If they are so bad for environment just ban them all the fees /taxes in the world aren't going to save the world or environment for the next generation.

His use of the word exploitation says a lot. Too bad though, I'm not feeling the least bit guilty. He however, forces us all to pay for "guilt"?

yep I farm and even if I didn't would it matter? Carbon and energy are both commodities which are central to farming the last time i checked.

LWeber...I literally laughed out loud when I read your post. It's definitely not harsh calling out someone who doesn't have the courage of his own convictions and hides behind some dumb pseudonym.

Chuck chuck, how do we know your telling the truth? You state a lot of half-truths and outright lies on here and refuse to listen when you're corrected. ( about wether you farm or not )

I also found it funny as Weber won on the CWB issue and he still sounds bitter? I am not sure why. I didn't think my opinion mattered that much.

On a lot of issues farmers have a wide variety of opinions. The farmers commenting on Agriville are not always representing the range of opinion out there.

We all live in communities where getting along with neighbors is important. Having a different view of the world is normal. Being civil and fair minded will encourage people to get along.

If a poster apposes the general consensus on Agriville, he is immediately accused of not being a farmer or is label a troll. This coming from 95% of the posters hiding behind fictitious names.

Some of you guys take yourselves way to serious!!!
