    So help me understand

The federal government sold the cwb to the Saudis but we never really seen any money for the deal.

Then the cppib goes around and buys 40 percent of viterra for 2.4 billion dollars.

Apparently now canadians should own a grain company.

But when suggested to offer an IPO for the cwb it was a stupid idea.

Anyhow apparently the government owns a grainco now.

    Let's review.

The cppib board has bought over 125000 acres of land and now a stake in a grainco.

And yet farmers were told swp was not worth SFA.

At what point do farmers wake up.

That fired ndp candidate might not be far off on his assessment after all.

It was all about getting rid of the CWB before the next election, not about what would be best for farmers.

Come on Bucket, you know why there was no IPO offering to farmers for the CWB, Harper and Ostrich Boy didn't want the CWB to be ever being resurrected again.

They didn't even want the CWB to operate as a voluntary co-op, end of story.

I'm also confused because why is the Canada pension plan bidding against farmers for land and now under the liberals owns most of the grain company.

            Just to be clear.

I don't understand why the cppib is buying a grainco that was broke a few years ago and no government would back or invest in.

Now they are all goo goo about ag.

Very short sighted and it makes me think that when teachers lawyers or anyone that pays into cpp is buying agriculture. ...its time to take the money and run.

Everytime the CWB comes up in discussion on here it is about as relevant as the media discussing how the american presidental candidates eat their pizza. Really.

And it will be a long term investment because they have a short sighted view ... ag in canada is on a cliff... and could drop.

More concerning though is why didn't government bail out swp for less money and better returns than a bailout for a Swiss trading company that was started by a guy that couldn't return to the states without a Clinton pardon?

G3 Canada is the best thing that's ever happened. Building new elevators buying some to and stating new terminal on west cost. Not sure what's wrong with that.

So the Gov want to be in the Ag business. What's next, one of the large input manufacturers?

Will there be as much whining when the basis is so wide in the future.

The elevators were being built, along with the purchase of Mission before the sale to G3.

And the elevators are in canada the physical asset that can't be moved.

They had to have more value than just an office full of people.

So they started building with that billion dollar guarantee from ritz....then supposedly sold it for 275 million but that money stayed in the company account. It was a self funding deal FFS.

The cwb was sold for nothing and the Saudis kept the billion dollar funding.

How does a billion dollar guarantee turn into 275 million?

Well for one Richardson did receive alot of money for putting in an offer for the cwb. Not sure how that works
