Brian Pallister he's a hard working MLA

Pallister in all likelihood is going to be Manitoba's new Premier on April 19. Watched, the debate the other night and heard Pallister mention several times how he was going to look after the hard working people of Manitoba. Which is great, but mean while he has spent 240 days in Costa Rica, since Sept 2012. That works out to 70 days a year, and I'm sure he holidayed in other locations during this time period as well. So how hard could have MLA Pallister been doing his job of serving the hard working constituents of Fort Whyte during this time period? I know everybody is entitled to three to five weeks a year holiday per year. Of course, it's up to the individual if they want to go travelling, or just stay in their home province and spend their hard earned money helping the local economy. Those that own their own business, can do what ever they please, when it comes to holidaying, that's their decision. But, I personally do not know of anybody who has a ordinary job that can go on a 10 week holiday in another country, and effectively do their job. Can MLA Pallisiter do an effective job for his constituents of Fort Whyte while in Costa Rica, 70 days a year? It must be tough to conduct those one on one meetings.

Oh ya I forgot there's Skype!!!

You know the NDP are in trouble when this is all they can come up with for political ammunition. All noise, no lead.

Hard working tax paying Canadians in general are about to have their pockets cleaned . So good luck to any provincial political wizard to promise anything - our drama teacher is about to drain any and all wealth from western Canada.

If any of those trips had happened when the legislature was sitting, then you might have something to complain about. But they didn't. Better get a kleenex for all your whining and snivelling! Sounds like he has a happy family life. With all the concern you show for the province how come you don't concentrate on the waste and corruption that our current gov.has been doing for 19 years? The way you whine i'm sure you can find something they've done wrong in 19 years.

Yep palli is successful and poeple hate it, he has a big house and didn't show his tax return , puke, a good business man has good poeple under them to run a business. In welfare Manitoba we rather have mla who live in there parents basement and mla ; s who have never had a real job or couldn't keep a job. Manitoba open ur pathiec eyes and look at the crook who screwed investers out of millions and hired his friends for over 100,000 dollar wages, how much was Duffy charged with? Selinger gives his friends 100,000s every year , Costa Rica holy shit ,we hate success in welfare Manitoba .

Studies have shown that those that take holidays make better managers than those that don't.

So what about this Manitoba party? Their main policy seems to be tax cutting but no mention how they will balance the books. Will they gain any traction and if they do will the votes all come from PC supporters?

It will be the outgoing ndp fault.

Funny in alberta it was incoming ndp fault.

Gotta enjoy the irony of the idealogically blind people of western canada.

There we go bucket! You gave the perfect example of ( when your pointing your finger at someone, you've got 3 pointing back at yourself! ) So bucket, are you saying that after 19 years in power, none of the corruption, prov. debt., highest number of gov. employees/capita, poor health services, very poor roads, no industry, lowest school test scores in the country!, crocus fund, bi-pole, highest paid teachers, ( lowest test scores ) are you saying that the ndp aren't responsible for this and more in mb.? Not sure how the conservatives are to blame for this one.

It's unfortunate that NDP governments lead to a culture of welfare and envy of successful people.

Pallister is successful and takes holidays in Costa Rico....good for him.

The crux of this Pallister story isn't whether he owns a house and spends time in Costa Rica but that he lies when asked where he has been. Either that or he has a very poor memory.

"During the 2014 Assiniboine River flood — a state of emergency disaster — Pallister was on a 14-day stay in Costa Rica, but he told the Winnipeg Free Press he was at a family wedding in Alberta.

Then in an interview published in the Free Press April 2, when asked where he went when he last left Canada, Pallister said he was in North Dakota when in fact his last trip was to Costa Rica."

What's a couple of little white lies. When MLA Pallister is working hard for his Fort Whyte constituents in Costa Rica, it's easy to forget where you've been on certain dates.
