Am I the only one who finds the irony funny... Grassfarmer, a fairly left-leaning type, left alberta just before the NDP got into power, and moved to Manitoba, just before the NDP got killed off...

Simple things amuse simple minds. To keep your facts straight I left Scotland just before the socialists took over there, moved from AB after the NDP came to power.

No government Can fix the NDP screw ups in one term. It takes years to destroy them. If Manitoba doesn't do it right the people will still vote them in again in 4 years.
But after two or three the die hard have died off or left for Alberta and new voters don't know or remember the NDP. But these new ones can also screw you if a leader woos them.

The youth and young adults in Manitoba today will be feeling the pain of being cash strapped due to the horrible decisions by the Selinger socialist reign of terror for a LONG time.

          $36 billion doesn't disappear overnight.

Grassy you really néed to learn to take a joke hahaha.

I agree the NDP takes time to kill because of the establishment they create... people are loyal to the tit that feeds them...

Would like nothing more than to see them reduced to 1 or 2 seats and have the libs become opposition.

Next election hopefully Alberta will turf those bloodsucking leaches too

I don't mind a conservative or liberal govt and the ndp in the ethereals. That seems to work the best for stability. NDP leaves a trail of cronyism, nepotism, high debt, and little to show for it. I remember some political scientist friends of mine said whatever happens politically in Saskatchewan comes to the rest of the country eventually. Saskatchewan is the political melting pot of Canada. Lol. All we hope is ndp is punted everywhere and they join the greens and Marxists and go **** themselves. Prime minister selfie looks like a breath of fresh air compared to Tommy the Commie, and he wasn't left enough for the party. Good move, good move.

Yes grass that is true. Any govt in too long will go that way. From what happened is Saskatchewan with the ndp giving party faithful jobs running crowns like pcs et al; it was a complete mess. I don't doubt our current govt could get that way if we don't hold their feet to the fire. However, the alternative is such a jump in the left direction and we remember all too well how incompetent they were at developing and maintaining the economy to fund social programs and infrastructure. Guys can argue about how bad our current govt is but it isn't as bad as the dark days of Romannow. Alberta the pc were in for too long because the alternative was perceived to be incompetent. The liberals federally killed the provincial party. Nep, gun control etc just did not help. Even though they are not attached like the ndp provincial and federal parties are. So when election time came everyone held their nose. With the Notley fallout I really hope the Loony Rose and PCs can merge and restructure as a united right of centre party and liberals or something like it could emerge as a strong competent left of centre alternative. The ndp sealed their fate with leap.
