Don't remember so many days in a row with SE winds and NOT get a rain out of it.
Sucking the moisture right out of the soil, good thing Summerfallow is a thing of the past or the Sun would be blacked out by DUST

Got the drill in deeper than I'd like but moisture is fleeting and getting harder to find

Seed in the dust -bins will bust! Thats what they say. We seeded in dust more years than we seeded in mud and lentils like dust better. One good inch and a halfer after seeding and kapow! Some durum was seeded 3 days ago SE of Regina. Its sprouting.

Now that should be a sobering thought for the Industry......

In a way we are in worse shape than last year.... I doubt we have the reserve we had last spring.

My main goal is to get the crop out of the ground as good as last year.....the rest of the growing season will be Hail Mary's....again(so far).

Got a very badly needed half inch here Saturday morning (20 min SE of Calgary) . Been a long stretch between any measurable moisture before that. Cold and grey today with a little drizzle. Should be very good seeding conditions now.
