    Well, I watched the video where Mo presents his case for the beef he has chosen for his chain. When he says that it tastes better than beef not "humanely" treated then I say BULLSHIT.
    Subjective statements like that should be challenged...what he is doing is promotion for promotion's sake.
    Build a better business case and watch the business boom...that's all it is folks.
    In the meantime, I will never darken the door of Earl's...BAR and all.

    Oh yes, they have a bar...how delightfully healthy is that?

      It's all marketing. Canadian farmers need to do a better job. Certified humane certified sustainable. Costs us nothing but helps sell our products into a premium market

        This is a long range ploy by the food industry for at least two things. First, increase prices. "Humane" beef is worth more per plate, maybe ten bucks. Then long term, when every restaurant has some special stupid attribute, rather than paying a premium to the specialty beef producer, the specialty beef, be it natural, organic or humane, becomes the standard and commodity beef will trade at a discount.

        The new axiom should read, "the customer is still the customer, they're just not always right".

        WTF does humane mean anyway? I know only one inhumane producer in this area, a German immigrant that starved his cows and will soon be in jail with one of my very large Native cousins for a bunk mate. Happy times ahead little homey. We'll see who the Master Race is soon.

          And how is that any different from the ABP/CCA guy standing saying Alberta beef or Canadian beef is the best in the world? Hollow rhetoric from organizations funded by checkoff dollars that are not innovative or visionary, just content to float along in mediocrity.

            I'm going to speculate that this beef is delivered in Kansas with a signed affidavit.
            Defined as;Affidavit definition, a written declaration upon oath made before an authorized official.
            We have a similar but maybe more cumbersome system referred to as tractability. Ours was sold as a much superior model.
            So much for that.

                All ranchers/cattleman I know do not use hormone implants and medicate with antibiotics only when necessary. These actions occur after the cattle leave the farm.
                This said, I am willing to bet several rancher and cattleman qualify for these programs if they were to inquire about the qualfications instead of boycotting a restaraunt they would goto once every six months.
                Like 15444 I really like A&W for the substance and taste of their burgers and onion rings.

                    Earl's is dead to me for throwing ranchers under the bus to appears some hipsters who likely don't eat beef. On the 620 CKRM Sportscage they were playing "Goodbye Earl" and promoting the Keg so if the sports announcers are noting how ridiculous Earls is it will be more people than just farmers.

                    Chipotle has travelled down this road of misleading perceptions and are now feeling the consequences of health concerns in many of their restaurants.

                        If you took antibiotics every day you wouldn't need to go tot the doctor for awhile but when you finally did get sick no use going as there wouldn't be anything a doc could give you
                        That is the problem.

                        Also I agree most cow calf people do a great job raising cattle. But once gone to the feedlots that's where the problem exists.
                        Is it the antibiotics or the steroids that make the feedlot beef that you buy in the store taste terrible sometimes? Because what I buy from my neighbor and what I buy at the store are way different taste.

                          If its any consolation, that place is a trendy yuppy hangout.....I am soooo out of my element at those types of places......and they have shitty value. I don't like eating anywhere where I have to crawl up into my chair and expect tips for shitty value and service. In regards to restaurant food...it takes alot to impress me because we eat quite good at home..... better, healthier, and cheaper.
