Agreed Riders! Right now everything is in response mode. Situation is not yet under control. No use in having politicians there for photo ops, it would be an insult. Leave it up to the pros. Both the Provincial and Federal governments have been 100% supportive. Politicians can show up once everything is under control and an assessment of damage has been under way. Btw, if you donate directly to the Red Cross it will be equally matched by the AB govt and the Feds. So my $250 is really $750 which I don't mind seeing my tax dollars going to. - There is a high risk when building in flood zones or cities in the middle of the Forrest. A 100 or 200 year event doesn't mitigate any risk as tomorrow you never know. Are there building codes for these high risk areas? Usually golf courses are built by city planners in flood zones ( high risk areas). Not sure how or if fire burns can be built around urban forrested areas?
