      You guys are funny.

If there's the potential to turn a 6 buck a bushel crop into a 60 cent a lb product that can be distributed country wide why wouldn't you.

That fellow is extremely well connected. His family runs one of the largest trading firms in Iran. He's backed and has an idea. Who wouldn't meet and chat with him.

Never discount an idea. Never take no for an answer. And never stop thinking of ways to improve.

Kinda like freewheat's problems. My solutions is wall to wall Timothy and sell it to Japan $$$$$$ no stress good for land no more getting stuck.

Getting into hay in wet country. There is a move you will regret. There were hay farmers from fort MacLeod that tried to expand to the Outlook SK area under irrigation. Just could not get good hay dry there.

I hope you get the weather you're looking for fj!

We have been given a stay of execution here, a new lease on life. We will need rain later again, like everyone does after a while.

It's a tough living, a risky living, stressful living.
It can be as bad as the worst roller coaster ride ever built....almost bi-polar. As I've said, not for the faint of heart or anyone who knows better.

A few years back, seeded 2 quarters to timothy, bought a new square baler, bale wagon..thoughts of sugar plums and dollars...followed by a drought that lasted a couple of years ...timothy needs moisture...China market dropped off....and BSE hit. A buddy also said " do you want to spend the summer waiting for hay.."
But, timing can be "a money maker"...not necessarily if you are smarter...or a harder worker..luck and timing can make a big difference.
Look at my home Alberta...had everything, then Oil tanks, forest burns and little moisture for ag...timing can be everything!
                May be the right time!
