She was a money maker for sure here. More like a money saver for some.
Some had heavy rain on Sat night but it was really variable from 1 in plus to virtually nothing .
Everyone locally here is getting a good drink today . Most seeding is done or within a day or two

Biglentil, those weren't the words I was going to use but those are inappropriately appropriate.

Good luck with the "rain shower" lottery.

Glad to hear some of the driest areas got rain. Without trying to sound greedy, I would sure like to see enough to ensure proper germination of the shallow seeded crops in our area.

It will be interesting to see what Western Canada's monsoon season brings this year. Typically June is the month. Here it might be another year of zero fungicide applications...... like last year. Which in the end turned out OK, in other words....better than nothing! ;-(

Mother nature teasing us no golden shower, causing some small blue balls to remain in limbo. Maybe tomorrow...

What is find interesting is the variety of conditions across Western Canada which determines people's wishes. Any thing from borderline too wet to too dry and anything in between. Then Mother Nature, without any regard for needs, wants or wishes, randomly unleashes too much in areas with adequate moisture or stingily holds back in places wanting......and once again everything in between.

                    What a crap shoot!

Combining canola today. Wind was maybe about 3km/h. Only got stuck 6 times today, not too bad. If it rains, I am screwed. Actually, looking at the crappy canola, I may already be screwed.

Not an acre in yet. Most guys probably half around here. Sucks.

Never been this stressed in my life. For those who will say, "hang in there", well I am sick and tired of it all. Been hanging in there for 20 years. This is my last year of screwing around on my own. Sick of being financially screwed and of working alone. Sick of catching no breaks whatsoever, with weather, with life. Sick of it all. I hated every single minute of today out there fighting with mud for grey canola that was a 40 plus crop in the fall. I have had enough. I don't even like it anymore.

Best wishes to all you guys and gals. May you have a bountiful season. Be glad if you do not know what it is like to get stuck and especially if you have seed in the ground and crop up.

If only I had known, or seen the futility of my initial and sad set up in my first few years, rather than trying to attain the impossible. I just wanted to farm.
