...some of which is being claimed/confiscated by the canola market this morning.

Meanwhile as guys realize that the seed treatment has worn off .... they are trying to kill the flea beetles on their 15 dollar a pound canola seed.

Yes it should mean a billion less for farmers when the families correct the prices at the afternoon tea. Then go to the "open market" to implement their discussions.

Whew .. new roll of tin foil.

Well, after saying all that. For right now, I'll gladly take what we've had.

It's currently taking little shower and everything is mudding. It's a little frustrating when a guy is trying to finish up.

Black powder I'm just saying it seems we have a blocking pattern over us and Manitoba and all storms hit Alberta and western sask strait up. Ok for us we are drying out but if this pattern continues losses will happen rain in excess makes mud. Enjoy the rain.

Agree with everyone on here. Was commenting on our area only. For now, it was a miracle.

A 5 inch rain? What a disaster! Had one of them last summer.

South of battleford we had a perfect rain. Two half inch shots over two days. West of battleford it's kind of a mess. A fast inch and a half one night and another inch the day after. The canola planted into moisture is going to have it's work cut out making it out of two inches of mud now that the furrows filled in.

Go out and tickle the furrows in a few days with your harrow

5 inches is a lot. In 1974 we had 60 bushel lodged durum almost ready to cut and on Aug 14 we got a 5 inch downpour. Then it froze 2 days later - all feed when #2 was $7.00/bus. Such fond memories! If lentils on heavy soil got 5 inches today, they would be a sad sight. I don't have a lot of experience with Canola but I suspect it might not like it all that much. Why can't we all just get an inch or a bit more? That's farming.
