WTF...why is it some people always get drenched and others not so much. So far not much here and we really are ok without any right now. ....but like hobbyfrmr says.....

We'll see how much when its over.

fj, are you having germination/emergence problems because it got too dry on top?

We had the odd spots where some didn't come up but the last .91inches is curing that. The stuff(majority)that came up first and this second flush and by far the minority won't be so far apart in staging that it will pose a big problem. Seems to be turning out alright in spite of myself

Bring it on. Forecast to get 2" here and I'll take it happily. Got 1.6" last week but it soaked in and no recharge of any sloughs/dugouts.

We are in the same shoes as you were last year Farma, clouds never get here, so far, yes dry top, not perfect germ. Wheat got 6/10" after seeding, just fine. Most Canola seeded after that event and just a 1/10" or two in small showers since then. Never met moisture, and man do we have subsoil MUD from last fall, enough to grow a crop.

We got a good shot overnight and still lightly raining. Puddles in the yard. The hayland will love this but for crop land we are probably good now till Mid/late june unless it gets to 30C and windy. Needs to stop so some in crop spraying can happen. Will have peas at 7 node when we go but better than stressing them out before this rain event and cooler temps. Lots of cereal acres ready to roll as well.
Question for pea guys? Would adding in some micros or plant growth hormone help reduce yellowing in peas when spraying a little past staging? Rep said lots of guys in the same boat. Thoughts are appreciated!

Oh never mind, neighbor installing septic tank, over nite , 4' of water in 8' hole. Subsoil maxed out.
