Just a wild guess , may have seen it before , may not , pre burn with extra zip, a flushing rain , emergence, sprayed with a group 2 , more rain before or after herb , yellowing in 2 days , low areas and water runs dead in 7 , 90% of the field affected except lighter sandy ridges??
Again just a wild guess , I could be wrong .

Most likely about a 70% yield reduction

Don't think we're talking about the same fields JD, but I'm sure the same results. The one I saw is 2 miles east of #4 and 363 junction.

Furrow, not sure but I would make a wild guess that it was sprayed with Heat and glyphosate. 6+" since seeding. And one hard 2" rain. Seen it before on ours and that's why I won't do a residual like that in front of peas. The field I'm referring to has been in a pulse/durum rotation for 10+ years, PLUS, it was hammered with hail back around '09-10. All in all a perfect place for aphanomyces to rear its head.

        Rotation, rotation, rotation.

Man, I wish I had the knowledge and confidence you guys have in mixing the cocktails you do and use.

I often think I can't afford(or don't want to lose potential) any ****-ups and use what's provided or pick which I think is the best option. At this stage of my career it shouldn't matter to me but would sure have been nice to pass the knowledge to the next gen!!!

            A graminicide isn't a "wild oat" spray.

So how much yellowing should I expect with the viper/uan/micros on virgin pea ground with no pre-burn. We had a good fall burn off with roundup but it is coming dirty mostly with kochia where the poor land is which doesnt grow peas all that well anyways. Thoughts appreciated? Peas will be approx 7 node

My guess , virtually none if you had micros in

Thanks Furrow, I appreciate that, I am a little concerned spraying out of stage. Hope to get on them later tomorrow or sunday. You guys seem to have some good experience and knowledge which is helpful. Thabks again.

We usually spray at that stage... ams and micros will keep them green.

Furrow are you doing 1l and 1 gal?

It's a little more money but when I used to grow non Clearfield lentils I'd throw in P3 and never saw any flash. I ran out for a strip and went with straight pursuit and they just sat doing nothing for two weeks.

Ok, great info. The peas are bigger so they should have more plant area to grab the micros. Klause, do you mean you spray them at 7 node? Is the ams used instead of uan? Furrow, I appreciate any extra info. Also Like the results that the Rack had using their micro package.

A quick tip that some may not know. When using merge as in solo//oddysey watch the merge rate carefully. With these growing conditions warm and humid 0.5 vv merge is more than is needed from my experience. Hence the earlier pull the merge back 15% comment. If you stop with solo/oddysey/merge in your booms for more than 2 hrs then you must purge your booms prior to carrying on with spraying. It will settle In The booms rapidly and roast peas/lentils for first 1:4 mile if not purged. I'm assuming viper even with uan may be similar but haven't actually experienced it with viper as always sprayed it all at once over a long day. Merge is a tremendous tank cleaner any previous group 2s in any nook and cranny will be pulled by it. I've seen peas and lentils screwed on this alone when the producer thot he had cleaned out well prior. Let a load sit in tank overnight and carried on next day. Resulted in G2 damage

Sprayed our peas with Odyssey Ultra in 10 gpa late Wed afternoon and finished Thursday morning....they are still looking ok. Or isn't that enough time to yellow? There was a cool morning a couple of mornings before but growing conditions have been decent. About 4-6 node stage.

Nothing special...granular inoculant and S15 with the seed. Rolled after emergence.

Little concerned about possibly reaching soil saturation level.
