Stop using the word graminicide you should like a chem rep, its wild oat spray.

JD, part of the yellowing is maybe aphanomyces starting to show up too? Drove past one pea field a couple times yesterday and saw yellowing and stunting. After a few times by it, you could pick out where the water sheeted and ran down the field after these heavy showers we've had the past two weeks. It was just sprayed yesterday. Not mine fortunately.

So going to get into some peas tomorrow that are probably slightly out of stage. Using viper/uan and adding in .5litre/acre micros to help with any potential yellow flash. I am new to this pea spray game. I really find topics like this interesting and helpfull. We had a good shot of rain earlier this week and then some again last night. Need to get on them asap

Zee you are not misreading the fields you are noticing yellowing. They are at the ideal stage for this to occur. And now they sprayed them last night with viper .. Glad they are not mine

JD, is the yellowing from viper? Peas out of stage, stressed out too much from weather, past disease issues?

Just a wild guess , may have seen it before , may not , pre burn with extra zip, a flushing rain , emergence, sprayed with a group 2 , more rain before or after herb , yellowing in 2 days , low areas and water runs dead in 7 , 90% of the field affected except lighter sandy ridges??
Again just a wild guess , I could be wrong .

Most likely about a 70% yield reduction

Don't think we're talking about the same fields JD, but I'm sure the same results. The one I saw is 2 miles east of #4 and 363 junction.

Furrow, not sure but I would make a wild guess that it was sprayed with Heat and glyphosate. 6+" since seeding. And one hard 2" rain. Seen it before on ours and that's why I won't do a residual like that in front of peas. The field I'm referring to has been in a pulse/durum rotation for 10+ years, PLUS, it was hammered with hail back around '09-10. All in all a perfect place for aphanomyces to rear its head.

                  Rotation, rotation, rotation.

Man, I wish I had the knowledge and confidence you guys have in mixing the cocktails you do and use.

I often think I can't afford(or don't want to lose potential) any ****-ups and use what's provided or pick which I think is the best option. At this stage of my career it shouldn't matter to me but would sure have been nice to pass the knowledge to the next gen!!!

                      A graminicide isn't a "wild oat" spray.
