Viterra can't be the ones make sales and bidding up the market as their basis is -$52.07 nearby and new crop ranges from -$47.74 to -$56.74 for _ucks sake! Can't remember it being so bad, I don't think even during the "plugged winter" it was that bad!
Beans hitting $11.62USD this morning.

To me Herbicide applications are a long term plan. Control weeds ahead of crops were control options are poor. Mixing groups ...not always the same stuff (group) or even stacking. That might mean spending more than you have to or want to. But its our land and I reap the long term benefits.
Sometimes I wonder why I spend so much but then I see other's disasters and know why.
Always a new challenge when it comes to weeds!

Sprayed 840 acres of wheat and durum today. Could have done more if "someone" had the herbicide at home, instead of waiting til 8:00 before I could pick it up. Also using 10gpa means lots of filling, only 100 ft booms. Cost about 20K.
No wonder some people farm so much. The machinery, along with good men, makes it possible.
With young legs(son) we could be doing more...but.... . If in the future he decides to move a mountain, he'll have to move most of it himself! Lol. Then there is harvest...
Take care.Last edited by farmaholic; Jun 6, 2016, 23:06.

Boarder, Canola basis, I'm guessing canola shipments to China were down for May and Viterra didn't get much of the business.
