    Clinton and Trump

After some ups and downs, Donald Trump looks to be losing ground. More United States voters deciding to vote for Hillary for lack of a better option.
Sad to see Republicans unable to pull things together but party is getting in worse shape day by day.
Not good news for our resource industries and commodity producers to have Democrats who favour envirionmmentalists and unions in power.
Both parties talking protectionism so one is only marginally better than the other, we can hope when smoke clears, saner heads will prevail.

protectionism is rife here in Australia as well.
Currently in election mode in 12 days time.
Have libs in govt now basically republicans and labour basically democrat.
But the fly in nthe ointment is a party preaching tariffs no imports etc etc to protect Australian industry funny nowadays cant export if you don't import

Looks to me like a battle between those who support taking liberties away from Americans and those who support taking liberty away from foreigners.

Putting our own countries and people first is a strongly held view for nationalists and nationalism.
Internationalists point out, that at least sometimes, it also leads to wars
Hard to put a value on activity that reduces chances of war.

the issue is they say protect Australian steel industry for instance and all projects should be aussie steel.

Currently were getting a new hospital built in our capitol city taking around3 to even 4 years to complete. Protecionist guys saying we should have used aussie steel builders saying and what pay 20% more for the favour oh well we pass it onto tax payers catch 22 on other hand they also say we should be using aussie oil to make our diesel and petrol rather than import from Singapore fuel would be cheaper govt set price etc etc why would a oil producer sell in Australia for 30% less than he could get on world market cause govt tells them so. tariffs are dead issue I think
