    \"FUN\"gicides....

Make sure you get it down to the bottom of the canopy....hahahahahahahaha, hahah,,,hahah laugh my ass off.

Good luck when things are lush. Oh, should have sprayed earlier, oh, 7-10 days later its so lush your second app will never reach the lower canopy again. **** me. Sprayed reglone on "thick as hair on a dog's back" lentils once...scorched the tops brown...below greener than grass!

    Some things are impossible!

Learned from midge spraying, tiny correct window, need a rifle with scope to hit it, gave up. This year too dry to need any FUN gicide. Good luck.

Anyone ever do trials with foliar Alpine G22? Is it worth the hassel to put with the fun gicides?

I stopped by the Alpine booth out of curiosity and their prices seem to range from $2.50 - $3.50 per litre for most of the product they recommended.

They were estimating roughly a 2:1 payback before factoring in extra machinery or labour costs.
This example was for canola, so it doesn't sound like it's worth the risk for our farm.

            I am with you wiseguy.

Grow more. spend more. make less.

Looking at some awesome lentil crop's in the area that when everyday you can't walk across the grass without wet feet ....these crops are not breathing ... they are suffocating in a sauna.....what spray prevents that.....

G22 is 1.09 a litre last quote I got, doesn't seem like a ball breaker to add in 2l per acre. Alpine likes the guys that put it in the furrow at 4 gal per acre.

The right product to use this time of year to help promote reproductive growth is hkw 18 but I found it can get a little toasty with some stuff. It's also more money unfortunately, ~$2/l if I recall.

                  What was the payback after?

No high clearance sprayer runs for less than 20 bucks an acre.

Chemical is on top of that.

                    You guys do the math.

Use all the factors when you trade. Depreciation maintenence etc.

Maybe I am not bright but every pass is costing something more that 2 bucks a liter.

Get de plane into those lentils and peas. They blast that fungicide down to the ground and no tires spreading disease around. That's where we have gotten the best results and we've tried both ways. Last year with the prices of peas in lentils, it really paid.

Bucket $20 an acre. I think you mean $2.

I would say I can easily say my costs all in are less than 2 and likely more like $1.50.

                          OK sure.

Let's just go with that. You can come spray my farm for 4 bucks an acre. That's a great roi for you and even better for me.

I will gladly pay you to do it.

General question does the Alpine help or hinder the fungicide. My supplier has done trials with similar products and found no yield advantage and in most cases not recommended by the chemical company. Have found a definite yield advantage in CPS wheat of fungicide use. Canola hit and miss. Definite plus in malt barley. Remember suppliers love both fungicides and foiar fert for the good margins.

Don't waste your money on foliar "feeding".
Plants were never meant to take nutrients in through their leaves, and won't unless they're starving.

Put fertilizer on in the spring.
