See the Monsanto full page "open letter" in this weeks issue of the Western Producer.

Visit the web page MonsantoCMS.ca to see what they are talking about.

Apparently its a confession about "When it started we (Monsanto president & GM) should have spoken up." "We've also been hearing a lot of fear based rhetoric floating around-about farming practices and resistance in Western Canada." etc. etc.

Only read the open letter and never saw this response coming.
If the Monsanto details and plan include giving a fair share of agricultural industry profits back to farmers then maybe they should be listened too. If not the let the chemical industry sink and disappear along with conventional farmers who real are at very severe risk.

Either way the peasants and price takers are just going to have to just live with it (or get out) one way or another.

And I haven't yet read anything other than the full page open Western Producer letter (with all its striking white space surrounding some carefully chosen....startling words)

Now at first glace at the website I don't see a damn thing that demonstrates Monsanto understands what it means to say "We heard-loud and clear"

I'm waiting for an actual explanation that includes a plan about what Monsanto actually understands about what they "heard LOUD and CLEAR" ...which may or may not ever come from the company or others.

Probably makes little difference what happens ....as until farm producers keep taking the leftovers....they will never get their piece of the pie.

Most are also against dirty oil; also nuclear power; and fossil fuels of all sorts; and herbicides and insecticides and pesticides; and hormones and steroids and anything made synthetically though human manufacturing.

Except their personal drugs; their recreational drugs; whatever fuel it takes for their travel and general enjoyment. But they would irradiate themselves or kill their immune system when it gets down to life or death. For instance does anyone properly dispose of the wastes and byproducts in those times of attempting to extend life.
So soon some have forgotten the destruction of prairie soil organic matter by the practice of summerfallowing and tillage. Without gyphosate and other herbicides I wonder where the seed supply for "organic" production will come from.

Just how common is it to not use supposedly organic seed to grow supposedly organic crops?

And what is going to happen at the June 30 European vote on the future of phasing out glyphosate use on not only European imports; but the third world countries that have been forced to abide by the same European rules...or else be effectively banned and shunned from those European economies.

It isn't only Monsanto that should be worried about future world food supplies.
