In Saskatchewan, I'm surprised to see that durum and soybean acres weren't larger.

Making more farmland everyday. If the report is believable and everything from Stats Can is just their WAG, then there is a lot of new farmland that went into production this year. Surpluses everywhere. Wonder if the neighbor will get last years grain bag picked up.

Everyone, tell your friends to work for the wages they got ten years ago and pay for todays expenditures with it. I don't think peas, lentils and canola, will be able to save our asses this year.

Stats Can't Report. Do any Producers see it as "Market Intelligence"? As a Producer, do you find any true value to it? Are the numbers ever accurate and relevant? Anyone use it to make marketing decisions?

What's the difference if they can't or won't take them and can't move them...there is no value.

They can't guarantee delivery 2 months to plan for a good crop....wtf.....ffs.

grading lentils will be a beeatch this year, they better be perfect!
Ones that aren't will stay in the bin, there'll just be too many for buyers to choose from.

World wheat markets are playing this excess wheat situation perfectly.
Don't forget that the majority of carryover is in China (doesnt matter)and The USA (matters).
Good quality Canadian wheat wiĺl be in demand once the crop size and quality becomes known. Prices will need to compete with US but it will be moving. Worst thing that could happen is for weather to wreck the Canadian wheat harvest. Of course that's always bad but this year it would be really really bad.

Mother Nature will take care of the surplus. Just get em in the bin. Probably 1/3 of the lentils are planted where they never should have been. Just looking around our area. Many fields are marginal to say the least. Not saying there are afew hum dingers, but a lot of small, yellow, weedy messes, too.
