    Are you ready to buy?

Just read an article in the latest Western Producer in which FCC feels that we are going to make more money this year and start buying new combines and 4wd tractors again. With the market action of the last 2 weeks I can't see our incomes rising. Still FCC feels for net income we are at the top of the cycle. How does everyone feel? Are you ready to buy?

Was at my local Case dealer yesterday buying parts and was talking to a salesman. All he said to me was that with new machinery having gone up 25% in the last year sales of new were slow. Lots of demand for used with low hours. Once the supply of that runs out he thought demand for new would improve. Looks like a game of chicken to me right now. I think the price of new will have to come down but I am a small farmer who buys very little new equipment. Have a good day:-)

When a new tractor is 700000 and a new combine is 700000 the companies can still go F$$k them selves. Sorry we need a reset button in farming.
1973 prices with 2016 costs doesn't add up any more.

$700K, with a favorable adjustment for exchange, some "magic" programming, and a real fair offer for the trade will move these over priced shitty "investments".

It's all a smoke and mirror numbers game.

      MSRP.... what a ****in joke!

Remember story by equipment dealer in 1970's.
Local half section farmer came in one morning to ask price of new cultivator.
When told price, he walked out in disgust.
By afternoon, he had sold farm.

That what I'm trying to get at. Equipment seed fert chem is all over priced. One huge wreck like 2002 and its game over for some. This is getting like the city housing problems.
Big problem is very few buying so new loans are down.
          It's all smoke and mirrors.

Equipment, chem and fert salesmen have to make a profit for supplier or they get fired.

Not so with grain merchants. They just have to make money for grain company. Not farmers.

I think they can because grandpa's money goes a long ways on leasing equipment.

For 100 grand you too can be **** of the walk but the 100 grand never comes back.

All lenders' job is to lend money. Get it out there and generate them revenue. Naturally the tone is a willing and positive lending environment.

I run the oldest ****ing shrapnel around and I dont care. It works FOR me then sits in a shed for 9 months. If I make profit I waste it on myself and my family.
If you dont like the way it looks, dont look at it.
All the smiley salesmen, paint, electronic counters and tinkerbells do not change the weather or the price of grain.

If you're willing to play the game you can get some good deals. JD is notorious for using predatory leasing to hook you but if you're smart and don't roll them until the end of the term you can't get some cheap equipment. If you fall for their short roll game and get into negative eauity they got you for good.

Depends how much is allowed for trades.
22% multi discount goes a long way for the guys trading the entire yard every year.
