Couldn't agree more that "generational money wasn't built being stupid".
But maybe once in awhile give the younger generation some credit for trying.
Some of the progressive farms out there are making more profit in one year than others make in a life time.
Personally I think there's a heck of a lot more to life than money.

But it's sure nice to see the younger generation get involved and try hard. More power to them and all the best!

Why does farm machinery prices keep going up? Because farmers keep buying it. If they didnt, the manufacturers wouldnt produce.

Farm economics 101:

I see the price of wheat is heading down to $5/bu, i need to go find more land, a better seed variety, book more fertilizer, and buy some bigger, more efficient machinery to compensate for the lower grain prices.

If it wasnt for all the BTOs uot there imputs would stay in line but how can you control the world unless you have more than your neibour, BIGGER and let the bank wory about the money you sat in the game with. And it does mater what your neibour doesa because if he persists in patronizing the imp cos we all have to anti up to stay in the game, And thanks harper and co for removing the limit on insurance payments now you can keep getting biger,its enough to give a dogs ass heartburn listining to you poorr bastards only farming 5/10,thousand acres,and complaning .

I have alot of respect for most of the producers in my area. The ones who survived the eighties now have either retired with money or have sons who are running some pretty tight ships from what I can tell. The only one that I am aware of that had a hair cut was a young gun with investors who got ahead of himself and the weather turned against him but he cut back and kept going. There are operations in my area who have survived hell and high water and will continue to do so all be it at times with some government assistance. I'm sure these types of producers are the majority on the prairies.

Bucket, I haven't seen too many handed a farm free and clear. Maybe get to use Dads equipment to get started but have to pay rent and run like a business or they aren't around long.

Oh so you are one of those guys that think its ok to overpay for everything and then ask for a write down through farm debt review and pay pennies on the dollar so everyone picks up the tab?

Jealous nope but I can tell you there are people that did just that a few years back while the rest of us were working off farm to pay the bills.

Or is the farm debt review just good business sense?
