    Henbent;

    You said; "The CWB speaks with clout...", however, actions speak much louder than words...

    In How many small elevators did the CWB prevent closure?...

    has the CWB prevented the private testing of GMO wheat all over western Canada?

    How come the last two big Malt plants went to Montana and Idaho instead of Alberta and Sask.?

    Did the CWB stop the Vancouver port strike/lockout last fall?

    However... on the CWB watch...

    Why did malt barley come in from the PNW USA and EU in the past 6 months, at a cost of 6 to 10 dollars per bushel... when perfectly good "designated area" select barley would have been avaliable at these prices...

    Why does the CWB want a $40/t basis charge to liquidate a PPO contract... while non-monopoly basis contracts normally can be liquidated at no cost at all...

    Why did the CWB sell feed barley 30-40 dollars per tonne below world price last year... when it could have sold it for $30-40/t above world price,at home here... instead of this we imported fusarium corn...

    We must to hide our heads in the sand Henbent... for the kicking in the rear end my farm gets... really hurts my family and community... and resolves nothing.

    Change is hard... ask your local T-REX... see what happens when we cannot change... is this what you want for the CWB... extinction?

      henbent,

      I agree, common sense should apply.

      We can all see the buyback is not supported by the legislation. Do you continue to support the CWB even though you know that they are lying by saying the buyback is mandated in law?

        Guys, It appears this dicussion could go on for a long time. We are miles apart in thinking. The good news for you fellows is that the solution is so simple and apparently the laws are all on your side. Now that King Ralph and his court have entered the fray, (Closed most of Alta Ag Offices) and are allied with the private sector the CWB is doomed. I guess now since I don't have to pay my income tax and won't have to register my guns I can sit on my butt and wait for the good times to roll. I'm sure my grain company friend will send around a mobile elevator to pick up grain and the railroad company will have a bullet train waiting to haul it to Uncle Sam. With all this on tap, it time to expand the old place, I'd say the sky is the limit. I guess if I can borrow a million, then I'm a millionaire, wow, now I see how easy it is!! Forgive me for my past dino thinking, I have seen the light. Bye for now, thanks for all the insight!! I hope we don't end up in more sh-t, following this line of thinking!

          Henbent;

          Better to have tried and failed... than to not have tried at all...

          We are very fortunate in Alberta... we have great saftey net programs like FIDP and NISA... Acreage Payments... year after year... fuel payments, a long list of benefits that make us the envy of Commonwealth Countries globally.

          Bill 207 is designed to protect your right to sell to the CWB... King Ralph is not perfect... and he never professed to be in the first place.

          I do hope we can make Alberta a better place to farm... you no doubt hope for the same outcome...

          All the best Henbent... may the Good Lord bring spring showers, productive fields, and good health to you and your family!

            Before you go henbent,

            If you wouldn't mind just posting a yes or a no to this question:

            Do you continue to support the CWB even though you know that they are lying by saying the buyback is mandated in law?

              PARSLEY:

              You are just like a dog with a bone...

              Poor Henbent... I think he might just feel like he is being henpecked!

              Good question... very political though...

                TOM4CWB, Hey you guys, be careful now you are starting to sound just like me. Where are the stats, and case law discussions, or does it all just come down to simple name calling in the end an effect Conservative tactic often employed by Ralph Jester's. I guess by your definition I am henpecked, mind you there are only 3 - 4 pecke-s at work, from what I hear. I like to describe myself as part of the silent majority a CWB supporter!

                  Parsley, I support, what the buyback policy is meant to do, that is keep pooling intact and fair. I can't argue with you relative to the case law that you keep quoting, however the Canadian Courts at least to date do not lean your way, since the practise has been upheld to date. If what you say is true then the Courts are erring in their interpretation of the law, and it would be a bad thing, or you are correct in thinking that lots of people at the CWB are involved in a massive conspiracy against us and trying to crush Canadian farmers.

                    henbent, it is good to see different oppions and thoughts from all sides. The silent majority thing though is starting to bug me. The only reason this so called majority is silent is because 'most' of these CWB supporters are one or two steps from the retirement home and do not care or wish not to learn about marketing.

                      dnach, Good point that you make about the age of the majority of the rural population. I guess these fellows know that they reside in a democracy and are comfortable with it. I never want to see big business, or the stockmarket running the Gov't. Democracy is a confusing, slow, and sometimes corrupt way of doing things. Who would want to live under another type of system?
