Charlie;
Regarding CEDA/AB/SASK policies ie. giving money and technical expertise to the Ukraine and others.
IMHO;
The Agriville farmer response to CEDA/AB/SASK Aid was negative, no doubt about it.
WHY?
IS it because farmers are just selfish and misguided?
Bureaucrats claim we farmers must be “politically correct” and approve CEDA projects… even if they destroy our profitability and livelihoods.
By exporting our technology and crop types through these CEDA/AB/SASK gov. projects, …aren’t we causing injury to the biodiversity of the world's food supply…?
Shouldn’t CEDA/gov. aid money more appropriately be used to promote and enhance the production of traditional food plants, thereby encouraging biodiversity, and developing new technology to increase traditional capacity to produce food?
Just exporting technologies we have, creating direct competition to products Canadian farmers produce, must be counterproductive.
CDN/Provincial Government damage to our western Canadian ability to remain the competitive low cost producers, must be offset by subsidies, to be fair.
Yet CDN/Provincial Agronomic work to maintain our advantages are being slashed... while Aid is being set to other nations around the world!
Isn't this putting the cart before the horse?
