CWB Allow Giving Farmers's $$$ to Political Parties

    Here we go again.

Here it is right off the CWB website:

    http://www.cwb.ca/en/about/our_people/political.jsp

It sure wasn't there last month. Ritter et al, got caught doing the same thing in the last election, and blubbered appologetically on the radio.

    Quote:

    A. The CWB will permit the use of corporate funds on a limited basis to allow for director and/or staff attendance at political events sponsored by federal or provincial parties, Members of Parliament, members of provincial legislatures or their representatives. Contributions in the form of goods and services for political events are also permitted on a limited basis. Political donations in any form other than that specified will not be allowed. Contributions will be approximately balanced among the major political parties at both the federal and provincial levels. The total amount of political donations in any fiscal year is not to exceed $6,000.

What is the CWB doing, donating to political parties?

The CWB has their own appointed Minister. All they have to do is pick up the bloody phone to speak to the Government. Their own private Minister!

Only the B of D or Minister Alcock can change the Code of Conduct. The staff cannot.

Was this Avis Gray's or David Herle's or Reg Alcock's idea?

Don't they know that farmers are having a financial crunch?

    This is disgracefull

    The culture of entitlement.

    Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

      Parsley;

I think the $6,000 is about the max. that can be given during an election to a specific political party.

      There timing couldn't be better!

      But we forgive... don't care...

Do you think they will tell us which party they went to?

The amount is NOT the issue.

There should not be one farmer reading the CWB's policy change that condones it.

Why would any farmer approve of his money going to political parties chosen by the CWB? Farmers should get that money in a final payment however little.

Can't the farmer decide for himself who he wants to send his money to, who he wants to support?

As wll, there is nothing that prevents the CWB's B of D from upping the allotted amount to $60,000.00 if they use a retroactive motion.
