    C- Green Aggregators

After receiving a letter from c-green asking about selling credits going forward 08-11
I phones the number at the bottom and talked to a fellow named rich answered my questions Could someone tell me if they signed up going forward why or why not?
some of the questions and answers I asked and received

Question where's the rest of my money?
Answer they still have 14% until they get a ruling from the feds on GST.
Q How much will it cost this year last time I gave up 25%.
A- flat 15% no middle men this time.

Q what are the credits worth?
A likely traded at $3.50 tn currently $5.75.
    Q landlord liability going forward.
A None to landlord or future tenant only have to notice to c-green to withdraw that land.

Q Why are credits worth more in Europe.
A non Ag credits only industry.

Q What does Sask Soil Conservation Association have to say.
A not a fan of their carbon trading scheme.

    Q What about Alberta model
A Not workable as they pay out people who do summer fallow.

I hope I have not put words in Rich's mouth and if you have any questions call him yourself. 306-585-6660

As far as I can see it never cost me any money upfront and only lost opportunity cost if someone else can go retroactive.
paperwork was easy and will be paid for practices I already do
Now pay out for grassland at 1 acre = 1 tn on grass less on alfalfa in brown soil zone zero till was only .25tn/acre so grass will be worth 4:1 more than zero-till.
Going forward I can't see much downside other than opportunity cost IF someone else can get regulatory approval before then.

Any comments welcome I don't work for them but like I said I did participate in the last program.

On land lord liability doesn't the land need to stay under min till?
And how many years can one sell carbon until there is no more left to sell?
What if there is 20 years of carbon sold on the land and someone wants to develope the land for commercial?

As I understand it you are only selling rights for 3 (three) years. and if you were to till the land in that time (other than potholes) you would give up the rights to the sequestration in that three year time frame.
nothing else currently going forward from that but call c-green 2B sure.

so the difference they pay between grass and no-till, is that due to the plants ability to sequester carbon, or is the difference to offset your own emissions( for spraying, planting, spraying again, combining, trucking, auguring, spraying a third time, auguring a second time, trucking a second time, running a grain vac, moving snow to get to a bin, heating the shop etc. etc. etc...) I'm just a little worried that one of these days(say if the libs get back in) that if we've already sold our carbon credits, that we'll have to go out and buy carbon credits from someone else to off set our own emissions! $0.87 an acre doesn't seem like much to clear someones conscious, if they're that worried about carbon. I just have this bad feeling that if I had to go out and buy carbon credits from someone or someplace else, that i'd have to pay a lot more!
With regards to grassland, does the carbon payment vary if it's being grazed and the grass is only 2" - 4" tall(and considering all the methane the cows are producing), compared to uncut grass that is 30" - 40" tall, compared to grass that has been harvested (cutting the grass, baling, frontend loader to load the bales, trucking, stacking, frontend loader again to feed them, methane gas from cows)
What if someday that a group of scientists decide that the amount of carbon we're producing isn't offset by the crops we're growing. I have a lot of questions about carbon trading, and whether that is a road we want to go down.

I didn't feel like the compensation was high enough but I am not aware of ability to participate with any other entities so decided something was better then nothing.
