Well its out and only a few surprises.

Spring wheat up a bit
Durum up 22%
Winter Wheat Up 65%
Canola up less than 70000 acres
Barley down Lots
Oats Down Lots
Field peas up a smidgen
Flax up 13%
I think the peas are way out SW is seeding them like we do canola.
Barley I believe and Oats I am starting to believe will be down that much.
Winter wheat acreage was huge down east. Winter Kill in Southern Alberta and Saskatchewan will have to see.
Flax will be up like their predicting.
Canola was where I thought it would be.
Durum I agree with where they have it, Spring wheat I think is still high.

Actually spring wheat up 9 %/1.4 mln acres. Highlight intentions only and will change when drills get going (particularly if a delayed spring but this is unknown other than lots of snow on April 22 in the western prairies).

Wheat was a surprise but the wheat price declines over the past month will have everyone looking at the cereal distribution in their crop rotation.

Seed sales would indicate that Spring wheat WILL be up significantly. The cold snap many discourage a few acres... but the dry weather has folks scared off barley if we have a dry summer.

This snow simply means it will germinate now!

Maybe in Alberta but not in eastern Sask.

Oh yeah, before Franny gets in here, barley is down because of expected dramatic decrease in domestic feed demand. Why is that Franny, something to do with $1.99 isoweans? what happened?
