Farmers can sell their meteorites, sometimes, for a lot of money.

            Selling crops...selling stones
            a bit of a stretch, I know
But meteorites can be very valuable.

            jensend throws them...lol

            Sorry, I'll exit.

No but you're always free to come look them over Parsley. I'll even let you borrow my loader tractor. The main reason our land prices are still relatively low is because European immigrants to Ontario have too much self-respect to pick the amount of rocks we have to offer.

Actually there's at least one guy with an old log truck with padding on the loader clams that comes around buying old rocks out of fencelines, as long as they have lots of moss/algae on them. He wraps them individually with blankets and takes them to Toronto to sell to the landscapers. Think he was paying 10 cents/lb or so last year.

I'll sell mine for way less than that. This is an open market and I will dump mine to get my market share.

I will drive him out of buisness then I can charge what I want when I have a monopoly.

I think I'll call my company ROCKGIL.

                    furrow,

                    google 'buying meteorites"
I do apologize for starting this thread.

It was because farmers see more stones than most folks, so I thought it may be of interest.. Sorry.

..and I was fascinated by the meteorites at the Metropolitan Museum of Natural History in New York City.

I think you need to stop reading the grain news
parsly, it must have been a slow news week to include
                        that article

I don't know to which article you are referring, JoeyPotato, as I did not read any grain news that included information by petrologists.
