ICE - WCE - expected to end wheat trading

The Contracts Committee for ICE Futures Canada has recommended ending wheat futures trading. The committee has recommended to the Board of Directors of ICE Futures Canada that the December 2008 and later feed wheat futures contracts be removed from trading.

The Committee also recommended that a sub-committee look at alternative contract specifications for the feed wheat futures contract and have its findings ready by September 1, 2008.

One has to wonder if a new contract might move away from the "feed" idea.

Anyone know who is on the Board now, or the Contracts Committee?

Here's the link to ICE Futures Canada's Board. It's current as the list includes Vannan.

They would likely strike a committee to work on a new contract design. You should volunteer. Hopefully they won't limit participation to members or it will be designed by fund traders - great!

The Contract Committee includes representation by all the major grain companies and a couple of "independent" individuals.

        No fund managers.

A sub-committee to direct the design is being put together.

Don't think you need to be a "member" since they don't have members anymore.
