Talk about freaky - Spring 2000, heavy April snowfall in the same area as this year, and then spring rains started to divert to Redeer - Calgary, then slide accross southern Sask south of the number 1. That was the start of a terrible drought across the majority of western Canada for the next 3 years.
History repeats itself, I just hope not this year, or the next two. A huge area in Sask is in huge trouble already with no major moisture forecast for almost ten more days.
