About 60mms last week and 25 over the last few days , more forecasted next week though its up and down so I'm not sure what we'll see , See once in a while I'm right I told you you were going to get wet, I think you might get more out of these next systems than us too.

I thought the article fit well with this thread's heading:

Opposition: Wheat board reform 'done like dinner'

OTTAWA -- The Canadian Wheat Board's monopoly on barley sales will survive for at least another season.

Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz introduced legislation in March that would give Prairie barley farmers the freedom to decide whether they want to sell their grain through the board.

But the bill has sat idle ever since.

On Tuesday, the government made the rare move of asking for the legislation to go straight to committee.

Opposition MPs say that's a sign the government isn't willing to make wheat board reform a confidence matter and risk an election over it.

Ritz gave notice he intends to send the bill, and another one altering who gets to vote for Canadian Wheat Board directors, to the house agriculture committee before it undergoes second reading in the House of Commons.

Normally, second reading -- where MPs from all parties can debate a bill's merits -- comes first.

The committee won't have a chance to deal with the issue before Parliament rises for the summer, which could happen as early as next week, and no later than June 20.

Parliament doesn't resume until mid-September, which means most barley sales would be completed long before the bill has a chance to pass.

Ritz said he is pushing the bill to the committee because he knows the opposition have said they plan to stall it.

"Opposition parties have made it clear they're going to do everything they can to delay these key pieces of legislation in the House of Commons," Ritz said in a written statement provided to the Winnipeg Free Press.

"That's why this government is pulling out all the stops by sending this legislation directly (to) committee to give western Canadian barley producers the freedom they have demanded."

Winnipeg MP and NDP wheat board critic Pat Martin said he thinks the Tory government's move is a sign the bill will never go forward.

"This Wheat Board thing is done like dinner," he said. "We win, they lose."
