    Navigator Field Flags?

Vittera just put up a flag (orange pennant with my contact # on it, on a stick ) in my quarter of Navigator. They say it is to keep the growers honest with their contracts. Fine enough, but I just don't follow their logic. Hows a flag supposed to keep track of guys without contracted acres? Can anyone explain this to me in a clear way?

Tell them it's a deal, and send them a bill for the rental space.

    LOL

I am sorry, The one problem with VIAGRA from is predecessor the SWP is the same stupid people are running the show.
FARMERS ARE AT THE BOTTOM, because their stupid and we have them right where we want them attitude.
It was at SWP before, Gone somewhat when they were Bankrupt but back with full force this year.
EX - Balzer grain Cart that they sell $76,000.00 Cash, Balzer grain cart from factory in USA $56,000.00 Cash.
NAVIGATOR IS THEIR BABY AND THEY THINK THEIR GOD.
FLAG AND A STICK THEIR IN YOUR FIELD TELL THEM WHERE TO STICK THE FLAG OR SHOW THEM WHERE. IT YOUR FIELD>

i guess it comes down to what's is written in the contract you signed with them, if there's no mention of identifying your field in some matter, that little orange flag would soon find it's way into my burning barrel, if i were you, however if identifying your field is mentioned, maybe in the fine print among one of those pages, i guess your neighbors and friends are going to know you patronize them(SWP), even though you bad mouth them at the coffee shop every other day! it's pretty simple, either the flag stays up or the flag comes down!

I don't go to the coffee shop nor do I hold any ill will to Viterra (I would not grace their door if I did). What I am curious about is, what this accomplishes. Are they going to have people driving around the countryside this summer looking for Navigator and Commander fields without flags so they can sue those people? Or is there another reason?

The guys at the service centre only told me it was to keep people honest. They wouldn't elaborate.

There is nothing in the contract that refers to marking the field. But man is that thing a headache to read. Legalese is not my first language.

Whatever their motivation, if it is interpreted as hostile to the contract holders they are only shooting themselves in the foot.

ColevilleH2S, you sound nervous about this, what's the big deal if you have a flag in your field and your legal? you didn't happen to sell a neighbour seed , did ya?

Well pretend it was an oil company that entered your land without permission. Tell them they just assumed unlimited liability for clubroot fusarium and unnamed diseases and stay the hell off your land. They have a contract for the production not the title. I might call my lawyer and talk with him also as they just implied you were going to breach the contract.

Boarderbroke, your in a fiesty mood. This is the first time I've ever grown the stuff so no I haven't gotten the opportunity to be in breach of contract yet(I sleep very well at night thank you). But if Viterra is going to start doing things that are not in the agreement and refuse to explain the purpose for it, this will be the LAST time I grow the stuff.

                    ColevilleH2S,

Viterra is ISO 9000 compliant... and this very likely is a simple part of providing integrity to the purity of the grain in the system.

Quality control reaching the farm gate.

Why should it be a problem... IF we are doing... in good will... an honest job of growing the crop?
