Poor slow emergence zero till crops look awful. Spotty rain showers. Weeds, weeds everywhere, wild oats and dandies abound.
Chemical companies and ferti guys reporting a great year, prices are way up and farmers must use the stuff whether we like it or not. Oil guys planning exotic vacations with lots and lots of cash in their jeans.
Economic management challenges everywhere on the farm, only the good great best of the best, top guns will survive. Privateers, freebooters will prevail and turn a failing industry back around. High commodity prices, offset by crazy input prices, will insure the farmer has again worked for nothing.....

Good news first, HRS looks good , but has not reached shot blade yet. Canola looks like another disappointment. Late very uneven and stressed by cold , frost flea beetles. Weeds catching up since canola is so slow. I expect yields from 20 to 35, if we don't get an early frost. Beans look good but maturity could be a problem. Winter wheat starting to improve , may be the best crop if it survived the winter.
