You know maybe were really being played by these companies.
It scares the crap out of me that If I bite I will have to give Viagra or our Local Dealer some where around 1/2 million dollars up front for product that I wont have on the farm till latest next spring. Hm does financial ruin come to mind. What if all farmers told them to Go to HELL. Now both US and Canada I bet the price would drop back to last spring or better. Their is no extra demand just Extra BS by companies to **** farmers blind.
Example. Dealing on product A told have to buy today or price increase and not sure can get product but pay me now and Ill find it.
I explode and tell the guy what hes doing is plain nuts, Do I have Idiot stamped on my head. Or Suckers. Start leaving, Then I hear wait, OK ill get it to you for last years price. But that's the best I can do. Moral of story for to long farmers have been takers and the industry knows it, and the sooner we get to business people (walmart etc take product if it sells then pay for it). Farmers its time to say enough is enough.

Okay lets all of us independent minded, free wheeling, hard nosed, union hating, co-op crushing farmers get together and agree to tell the fertilizer industry to go to heck. Will happen, WON'T HAPPEN. Why? Cause all that agri-business has to do is give one farm guy/gal a deal, then the flood gates open, and its everyone for himself rush to pick up expensive product gotta farm, gotta farm.
Strange isn't it, kill the CWB and watch grain prices go down, down, down. Yankee traders will git the grain for nothing.... I love the open market, supply and demand rules! Forget farmers getting together, unless someone were to shout FREE BEER!

          Burbert,

The LOW bidder on a recent Egyptian wheat sale was the CWB... some $50/t BELOW the USA.

Give your head a shake... the obvious point is this... the CWB UNDERCUTS prices... because of the lack of transparency and market power.

DID you or I have the opportunity to tell the CWB to not undercut the market by $50/t?

NO WAY... the single desk in the CWB license to steal from my farm, as would be the case as well IF the CWB were in charge of buying fertiliser for my farm!

YOU are FLAT EARTH... just plain not living on the same planet, as those of us who produce the majority of the grain in the 'designated area'!

How do you actually make your living... that puts the groceries in your fridge each day?
